He turns his eyes to the blogger.

“Are you affected by the Perfectionism Syndrome? Have you ever been obsess by the idea that what you wrote is not good enough? Have you ever had the feeling that your content isn’t value-packed?”, the wise man asked.

“Hummm… Yes, it often happen to me”, the blogger said.

“That’s great”, said the wise man, “I’m grad to hear this!”, he continued.

“Glad?”, the blogger said, “Are you really glad!”

“Yes, of course!”, the wise man said, “Let me explain!”

There was 5 to 10 seconds of silence before he continues.

“There are 3 main reasons for that.”, he said.

“First, feeling that your blog post isn’t good enough let me feel that you are focused on quality contents; and this is great. Second, it informs me that you have respect for your audience. Finally, it reveals me that you are critics about what you write. Isn’t good?”, said the wise man

“Well, I guess so”, said the blogger, “but could you tell me more about your thoughts?”

“Sure”, said the wise man, “let’s begin with the quality contents. When you feel that your post isn’t good enough, you just challenge yourself about the quality of your post. Your fundamental desire is to write something valuable for your audience. This demonstrates to me that YOU are valuable as a blogger because your goal is right. Stay yourself and have trust on what you are doing!”

The blogger was listening carefully.

“Now, let’s talk about the respect”, said the wise man.

“Writing value-packed contents reveal that you have respect for your audience. Respecting someone is taking the time to offer quality! Taking the time to offer quality moments to your children is giving them respect. And respect is a not a one-way road: give respect and you’ll receive respect! Stay yourself and have trust on what you are doing!”, the wise man said.

“Finally, let’s talk about your self critic”, said the wise man.

“Being critic about yourself reveals that you are not taking anything as given! Everything is unique and worth to be well done! And that’s something I respect.”, said the wise man.

“You just demonstrate me a new way to see my Perfectionism Syndrome, said the blogger, but how should I react when I feel it?”

“Live it and accept it”, said the wise man. “Stay yourself and have trust on what you are doing!”, he said.

The blogger left with a better understanding of what he felt before. He knew he was now a better blogger because he fundamentally understood that being a better person is being a better blogger!
