I hope people take me up on the invitation.

The blog I guested on had the invitation for guest bloggers for a long time and nobody offered to blog, so there may be much less competition than you think.

I say go for it!

I’ve never guest blogged before, but after I read this post I’ve been looking at various blogs to see where I can offer most value and contribution.

Tomorrow, my first guest blog post appears on a “competitor’s” blog. We’ll both benefit from it even though we’re both in the same marketplace. There may be an additional tie-in later, which would also be beneficial for both of us, but most importantly, beneficial for the blog readers.

To anyone thinking about guest blogging I would say why not ask? You won’t know until you try and the answer may be yes.

On my own blog if anyone has a post they think would be suitable to add as a guest blog, please just let me know.

But you should think of this like salespeople do when they’re doing cold presentations and keep getting the answer now.

Remember that all those NOs are necessary to get to the YES. If you don’t work through the NOs you can’t have the YES. So work through them. There might be fewer of them than you think, especially if you keep experimenting with different approaches.
